Cardigan Highlanders Volunteer Trail Crew
3rd Saturday of the Month
To aid your planning, we will schedule a work day on the 3rd Saturday of each month during the trailwork season. If we must cancel that day due to foul weather or other unforeseeable factors, we will use the next day, Sunday as our backup day. We will schedule other work days as jobs and/or available crews pop up, but you can count on there being a work day on the 3rd Saturday of the month.

Happy Spring, trail crew,https://naturegroupie.org/experiences/national-trails-day-mt-kearsarge-trail-crew-cardigan-highlanders
One of us walked up this trail Thu 4/16. They report 15 blowdowns, 3 or 4 need chainsaw, the rest hand tools (our 3 10" saws sharpened 4/20). We'll go uphill from Newbury with saws, loppers, hand pruners, rakes etc. If one of our authorized chainsaw workers wants to use theirs, there's people to swamp the slash. We'll work until time to turn around, and we may spot a car in the NE Bowl to drive us back to Newbury (I have the gate key). Round of refreshments after tools are stowed.
Meeting time 0900, at the red caboose on Rte 103 in Newbury, NH (see map link below).
Usual SOP: leather boots, long pants, BYO gloves or we issue a pair. Gear, food, water, electrolytes for forecast weather.
