The light rain was not so apparent under the thick canopy of summer leaves, and up they went.\u00a0In six hours they&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>1)\u00a0Raked and re-dug all 24 drains;<\/p>\n<p>2)\u00a0Barricaded 6 herd paths, some for the second time;<\/p>\n<p>3)\u00a0Removed and replaced 8&#8242; of log waterbar with a new and sounder log from a blowdown, held by new pin rocks;<\/p>\n<p>4)\u00a0Above the powerline, built a 24-rock scree wall of jagged stones to better define the trail.\u00a0 Hikers like straight lines,\u00a0the woods don&#8217;t\u00a0 cooperate very well.<\/p>\n<p>The crew showed a very positive &#8220;can do&#8221; attitude, it was a pleasure to work with them.\u00a0 Mind, that is like most\u00a0volunteers everywhere. The hikers are lucky to have such good trail tenders, and they all thanked the crew.
