A Sign of Things to Come
Last July, after many long years of service, the trailhead sign at Mount Sunapee's Andrew Brook Trail was found lying on the ground. The sign had passed on. The sign was no more. It had ceased to be. It expired and gone to meet its maker. It's a stiff! Bereft of life, it rests in peace! It was nailed to its perch but is now pushing up the daisies! Its existence is now history! It's off the twig! It's kicked the bucket, it's shuffled off its mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the choir invisible!! THIS IS AN EX-SIGN!! (Apologies to Monty Python and all Norwegian Blues.)
That being the case, our friends at the Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway Trail Club (MSGTC) jumped into action. They manufactured a new sign, and on Friday September 6, Highlander Josh joined MSGTC members Pete and Steve to mount it. Josh cleared away the old hardware, then Pete and Steve set the new sign in place. The whole process took about 2 hours. Thanks to the MSGTC, the Andrew Brook Trailhead has a sign that will guide an inform hikers for years to come.
