2025: 41st Worklog Summary for CHVTC 

Eighteen volunteers turned out: 11 had and one earned their tartans. Our 430 hours on trails is 90% of the average of the five years pre-covid: 476 hrs.  Admin = 172 hrs, outreach = 20 hrs. DNCR values volunteer labor @ $35.76 / hr, so our 620 hr = $22,171.

We patrolled 17 miles, cleaned 200+ drains, cut 43 blowdowns (bd). We built 180'+ of barricade. We blazed 3.1 miles of Skyland Trail in WHITE. We removed and replaced (R&R) 10 log steps/waterbars: 8' 10' 10' 10' 5' 8' 8' 14' 5' 6' =  84'. We R&R 2 KD 2x8x8' bog bridge planks. We added 10 rock steps. Since August 2024, we cut 30 bd, brushed, blazed WHITE all 7.4 miles of ridgetop trail. That is Mowglis, South Ridge, and Skyland  trails. That was 10 days totalling 178 hrs.

We welcome, support, train, and thank volunteers. We tend and build on 19 miles of trail, and have fun at good quality work with like-minded people, knowing our work will last at least for decades. We add jobs and check off others as we do them. We reach out to other  groups, donors, and individuals. If wild lands are worth keeping, the trails need tending.
