New Season on Mt. Cardigan

Thursday 6/5 two of us returned to barricade where hikers have started to wear a herd path across a zigzag. We harvested several dead fir trees from the woods upslope, plus were able to saw down a dead standing birch tree with our folding handsaws. We wove the small fir trees among the trees beside the trail, added more within the eroded area, tossed in more branches, weighed it down with 8' long birch trunks, and lastly trimmed branches from over the trail and threw them on the slash, about 3' high.  With a clear path  around it, hikers began to use the trail at once.

2 crew, 2 hr onsite, 4 hr total: 8 hr.   1.7" rain forecast today and tomorrow…

Yours,

Craig
